Fathers Day, just like Mothers Day is always a big event in our Church, especially in recent years. It’s celebrated in honor of all fathers in the Church who are earnestly contending for the faith and being examples to their children. This year’s celebration was marked with a tasty Steak dinner prepared by none other than our own Pastor, Pastor J. Allen Sweets. The dinner also included classic sides prepared by the other members of the church as well as a chicken dinner for all to eat. After everyone had eaten, it was game time as Sis. Cory led us in a round of “How well do you know your dad?” This game required the host to rattle off 3 interesting facts about each Father for everyone to predict which Father best aligns with those characteristics. 

Afterwards, Sis. Lydie presented us with a beautiful poem she wrote about the characteristics of a Father in Christ and words of encouragement for Fathers to keep the faith as warriors of Christ. What a beautiful afternoon it was! This Fathers Day event is part of the broader vision of our Pastor and the Scriptures that encourage fellowship with one another as we walk in the light and the blood of Jesus Christ his son cleanses us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:7). There are several events that are held each year at Apostolic Church of Truth and every one of them is  geared towards Fellowship for all.
