BAPTISM
Ephesian 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
There is only ONE baptism recognized and mentioned in the bible.
Belief and obedience is vital for you to have the life Jesus promised.
Like making a cake, if you leave out an ingredient your cake will not turn out. It’s the same way with the plan of salvation. If you skip any parts of the plan God established or feel it doesn’t take all that, or that does not matter. You will not have the power God intended. Do it exactly the way God designed it. It’s God’s heaven, it has to be done his way!
Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death
In baptism the old person is buried, it’s designed to cover the behavioral practices that lead to death before coming to Christ.
Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Baptism cleanses the conscious from the old man.
1 Peter 3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
The old behaviors you practiced are covered in the baptism process through the Name of Jesus. It was Jesus blood that was shed for your sins, the atonement for your sins.
Ephesians 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
The NAME of Jesus Christ is required in this process of baptism. The authority is in the NAME of Jesus Christ. God gave Jesus the authority and ALL power, it was his redemptive blood that was shed for you, and it is in HIS Name that the burial of the old man and resurrection of the new man is able.
Phil 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
Acts 4:10-12
10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Matthew 28:18-19
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the NAME of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
- Father: Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
- Son: Matthew 1:21 - And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.
- Holy Ghost: John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
You must be born again to go to heaven, baptism in the NAME of Jesus Christ is a crucial step in this born-again process. What we have covered has addressed the requirements of being born of water.
John 3:5-7
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
